Avey Cap and Headband

Here's a couple more patterns I created in my Etsy shop. I'm really thrilled with how they've turned out! The first hat I've called the Avey Cap- it sort of reminds my of an aviator hat... so I named it an abbreviated version :)

This headband I created after seeing something similar that a guy wore when doing summer mountain biking in Whistler, BC. I loved it immediately for both sexes, and thus I created "The Unisex Headband" pattern.

Ink Calender

This calender is incredible. Spanish designer Oscar Diaz designed it to use the capillary action of ink spreading across the paper to display the date. Each month a bottle of colored ink spreads across a sheet of paper embossed with numbers, coloring them in as it goes.

The ink calender makes use of the timed pace of the ink spreading on paper to indicate time. The ink is absorbed slowly and the numbers are printed daily! For more info, check out DeZeen.

Visit to Whistler

We had a fabulous trip to Whistler, BC over Canada Day! We went with some very close friends and had fun hiking, shopping, swimming, playing cards, and enjoying delightful eateries and art galleries.

The highlight of our trip was taking the Peak2Peak gondola from the top of Whistler mountain across to Blackcomb.

In addition to being the longest continuous lift system in the world, it is also the highest, hanging 436m above the valley floor. It's quite a thrilling ride too, being that it's unsupported for a span of over 3km. We definately enjoyed it!

Once we made it across, we took an open air lift to the very peak of Blackcomb, where we hiked around and admired the amazing scenery before heading back down. There are so many hiking and bike trails (as well as restaurants and gift shops) at the top of the mountain, that a person could easily spend all day exploring.

What a fantastic trip! I have to say that I am proud to live in beautiful British Columbia!
